Growing Volunteerism Program
The WHS VIPs invite your child to participate in our 2017 Growing Volunteerism Challenge. By doing acts of volunteerism, your child can help 'grow' their school's volunteerism tree. You will see the volunteerism tree hanging in the lobby of your school. How can your child grow the volunteerism tree? At the bottom of this page you will find some volunteer ideas. If your child completes an act of volunteerism, he/she gets to place one of the attached helping hands on the volunteerism tree. Just put your child's name and act on one side and sign the other side. Your child can bring their helping-hands into school to help the tree grow. The school with the most helping hands will win the Weycathlon service event, and the children with the most leaves may be picked to attend this year's Weycathlon. Happy volunteering!!

Who are the WHS VIPs, what is the Weycathlon and why do we care about Volunteerism
The WHS Volunteers In Practice program is the high school's honors society for students who engage in valuable, inspirational and purposeful service. WHS VIPs run service events to benefit their community and work to inspire other students to do the same. Founded in 2012, the VIP program has honored over 160 high school students, 500 primary school students, and raised $35,000 for local charities. Each June the VIPs host the annual Weycathlon, a district-wide field-day to celebrate the volunteerism completed by Weymouth Public School Students. Our town has a proud heritage of service. The VIPs are excited to continue this focus on service and to inspire the next VIPs to be 'weymouth proud.'
